[ The sling's only for immobilization, really, since the injury is contained to his shoulder blade. It's not pleasant, but after ten days, Blake's feeling better. He doesn't ache anymore — not to the point where he needs painkillers — although there are times when a twinge will cause him to wince on the sly. ]
You doin' okay? Stayin' outta trouble?
[ John starts to loosen the strap of his sling, all the while watching Crowley for signs of his general state of well being. ]
I can't remember the last time I tried this hard to stay out of trouble, sweetheart.
[ He stays close, hand hovering by the brace to help Blake. Regardless of whether Blake feels fine taking care of himself, Crowley can't help the urge to assist him, especially not when he knows he's responsible for this. ]
[ Crowley's hand goes to the back of Blake's neck to massage gently. He's ever-cautious of Blake's injury, but also aware that he's been keeping his arm in the same position for hours. Crowley knows he must be stiff and sore. ]
Come make yourself comfortable and let me take care of you.
[ It does feel pretty good considering how tight everything's been thanks to the injury. Blake's range of motion's limited at the arm and shoulder, but he tilts his head a bit to give Crowley something to work with. ]
Mm. Dunno if that's necessary.
[ Not that he's pulling away. ]
Your bed's more comfortable than mine.
[ Which is the direction he'll go when he has a moment. He doesn't even want to watch a movie or read, just lay in bed with Crowley and try to forget the stupid pressures put upon them by the outside world. ]
[ Crowley's pretty sure that it's his presence that makes it more comfortable and he would tease Blake about that if it weren't something that made him think a little too much. Dean coming after Blake had been a wake-up call for Crowley of sorts, but he's still not sure what he's woken up to.
Either way, he doesn't care what's necessary. He cares what he can do to make Blake comfortable, maybe even relaxed.
Leaning in, he presses a firm but relatively chaste kiss to Blake's lips and then starts to lead him to the bed. ]
[ The kiss is welcome and returned in kind, Blake easily taken by the proximity. He's become a bit of a sucker for Crowley and his ways and by now the trust between them means he's apt to go along with just about anything. ]
What's it been like down here? Things've been quiet up on nine.
[ Blake chin dips slightly along with his eyes and he lifts a hand to rub self consciously at the very decent amount of stubble he'd gained since the beginning of the month. ]
This? No, I was... [ He shakes his head. ] It can definitely go. That'd be great.
[ Crowley's hand slips down, fingers lacing with Blake's good hand, tugging him towards the bathroom. He pauses next to the closet, opening the door to pull out a comfortable but simple folding chair.
[ John grabs up a pillow and props it up behind his back before taking a seat. ]
Woulda got to it eventually, y'know.
[ Which is to say, he doesn't particularly enjoy that he's got to be dependent on anyone (although, of all the people in Wonderland, Crowley's the one he's apt rely on most). ]
[ Crowley smirks, knowing that Blake's putting up a front and not really caring to knock it down. He pulls out his own shaving kit and it's a reminder of his age with its straight razor and brush. He intends to give Blake a treatment that few men get to have these days.
He gets to work, lathering up his shaving cream. ]
[ Quick to settle, John closes his eyes and waits for Crowley to finish whatever prep he's got ahead of him. He feels mild, but tired, quietly prepared for nothing serious to happen. This is almost like a respite for him in a lot of ways. ]
It's good you take care of me.
[ You know, if you were wondering at all whether this means anything. ]
[ Honestly, Blake can't argue with Crowley at this point. Especially after their confrontation with Dean. He'd had an opportunity to run, to save himself, but that just isn't written in John Blake's genes. ]
Same here.
[ He's going to keep the talking to a minimum from here on out because he knows it'll make things easier for Crowley, but in the meantime he can't help but think about how far they've come. It's no surprise no one's been able to stop them from visiting each other, is it? ]
[ Sometimes, Crowley is struck by how much Blake has affected him. He's changed, he knows, but he also feels something clawing at his gut when he looks at Blake too long. It's funny, because there are times when he doesn't want to look away. ]
Relax and stay as still as you can.
[ He moves over to the counter for his straight razor and a towel before coming back to straddle Blake's thighs. ]
[ No argument there. Blake's right hand rests on Crowley's hip and the other remains flat across his abdomen. He appreciates that solid weight on his legs and it allows him to relax back just a bit, allows him to put a little pressure on that shoulder that's been aching for days. ]
This is a treat. You are the king, and I'm just— a guy.
[ He opens the straight razor, holding it in his right hand. He rests his left on Blake's forehead--a reminder of his presence--so that Blake will keep himself still while the blade is on his skin.
The first swipe of the blade over Blake's throat creates a soft scraping sound in the quiet room and then he pulls it back to wipe the blade on his towel. ]
[ The feeling of the razor against his skin is different than he expected it would be. A chill bubbles up at the sensation, but he can't deny there's heat behind it.
Between stokes, Blake swallows and leans his head to expose more of his throat. Crowley could cut his neck in this moment and he'd never see it coming. There's an implicit trust, one that leads John to put his vitality very squarely in a demon's hands. ]
[ Crowley can feel his heart beating in his throat at Blake's words. There's something so very intimate about this and he relishes in the knowledge that Blake trusts him this much. He'd show Blake the same trust, even with a blade that would kill him.
Finished with Blake's throat, he moves onto his cheeks and chin, scraping away the shaving cream and hair with careful precision. ]
[ It creates a thin smile that Blake can't manage to control. What more do they need? What kingdom do they want beyond the four walls they share most days? In Wonderland there just isn't much worth ruling and since this is where they are and where they intend to stay, it feels right that it only really matters to them.
Fingers gently massaging Crowley's hip, Blake swallows down his fondness for the demon and lets him finish his task. It feels good. Better than he expected. He might have to ask for this more often, injured or otherwise. ]
[ Once he finishes, he reaches behind him to place the razor down and then he wipes Blake's face and neck with the towel. There's a quick kiss placed on Blake's lips and then Crowley reaches back again for his aftershave.
He rubs it into Blake's skin with gentle and practiced ease, massaging Blake's jaw. Truthfully, he never thought he would ever enjoy doting on someone like this, but it's all worth it for the feeling that Blake's little smile leave in his chest. This sort of intimate touch is such a comfort to him and he wants every bit of it that he can get. ]
Your loyalty means more to me than any silly house.
[ The personal attention leaves his stomach without a bottom, the foundation having fallen out some time ago with the invention of this relationship. He waits until the demon's done with the aftershave and then he leans in to steal a more pointed kiss, his arms moving around the other man despite the doctor's orders.
He feels so perfectly powerless sometimes, absolutely equivalent in legend to that of a dust mote, but Crowley still sees something there worth wanting. If this had been about sex or power he would have been gone long ago, but that's clearly not the case. Blake's neither easy nor convenient and the fact that they've maintained together for nearly a year speaks volumes in ways neither would typically acknowledge. ]
[ Finished with the razor, Crowley's less concerned with Blake staying still and he returns the kiss with a slow, deep-seeded heat. That he cares for Blake is hardly something he can deny anymore. Even if he'd tried before Dean's attack, he couldn't in the face of what it had felt like to watch Blake get attacked like that.
Crowley is attached, beyond fond and quickly falling into some new territory that he truly isn't used to treading. It's terrifying, but he isn't scared of Blake at all. ]

[ Crowley's been especially on edge with Dean lurking about, but he knows Blake is playing with him and he can't help his smile. ]
How's the arm?

With the demon's help, Blake's freed from his sling, which he drapes over the side of Crowley's chair. ]
That's great. Pretty sure that's what's gonna keep us well under the radar.
